It’s one of the elements of social campaign aiming to pay attention on the crucial, but frequently overlooked and underestimated, problem – the suicides of the young.
The problem of children and teenagers committing suicides has achieved the enormous size, but still remains the taboo. The pain of parents and relatives touched by the tragedy is accompanied by the silence. The rest is often convinced that it’s not her or his problem, being blind on every sign, that little and inconspicuous and huge and obvious one as well.
Then the silent call for support, unspoken requests for understanding and help, every desperate ways to pay attention on oneself and hidden desires to feel being important – all of them are easy to be overlooked. There are more and more expectations impossible to meet and there is bigger and bigger sense of lonelinness. This lead to the tragic end.
”Jeden dzień – wart całe życie” (”One day – worth whole life”) campaign is to break the silence bound with this serious subject, not arousing the fear and the sense of guilt. The problem, ignored till now, needed the appropriate treatment.
”The problem, as being inconvenient and difficult, was swept under the rug. I think it’s worth, or even neccessary, to start debate on the subject, to publicize and to break the taboo. People, especially parents and teachers, should pay attention to this huge problem and not pretend that everything is perfect. ” (Aliaksandr „Saszka” Kanavalau, the director)
