Warsaw Animation Film Festival presents “The Cinematic Storytelling of Toy Story 4”
We’re honored to invite you all for a special lecture presented by the artists from Pixar studio – “The Cinematic Storytelling of Toy Story 4”
Patrick Lin (Director of Photography) and Ye Won Cho (Lighting Technical Director) will present an in-depth look into the cinematography of Toy Story 4. Taking the audience through the production process of shooting and lighting an animated feature, as well as breaking down the aesthetic thought process of creating the film’s camera language, visual structure and lighting design, and how they were used in support of story and to strengthen characters’ emotion.
After the presentation there will be a short Q&A session at online chat.
Patrick Lin is a Hong Kong–born cinematographer and layout artist who works for Pixar Animation Studios. He was the director of director of photography on The Incredibles (2004), Up (2009), Inside Out (2015) and Toy Story 4 (2019).
Ye Won Cho, native of South Korea, works at Pixar Animation Studios as a lighting technical director. She has worked on some of Pixar’s well received films, including Toy Story 4 (2019), The Incredibles 2 (2018), Inside Out (2015), Monsters University (2013) and Up (2009). She lives in San Francisco and loves to create artwork inspired by her travels.
