CG/VFX SUPERVISOR

Platige Image is looking for an experienced CG / VFX Supervisor who cares about telling stories that move people. You will be responsible for the technical and artistic quality of the project, therefore you need to understand and interpret the Director’s intentions and also be conscious of the project’s budget constraints set by the production team. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Oversight, Creative Direction, and Quality Control:

– Oversee visual effects from pre-production to final delivery, ensuring alignment with the director’s vision.

– Provide creative and technical guidance, approving the visual style and quality of VFX shots.

– Conduct regular reviews of VFX work, providing feedback to ensure consistency and quality.

Collaboration and Team Leadership:

– Work closely with directors, producers, and team leads to understand project goals.

– Facilitate clear communication within the team.

– Lead and mentor the CG / VFX team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.

Technical Supervision and Innovation:

– Solve complex technical issues and ensure efficient CG / VFX pipelines.

– Stay current with industry trends, implementing new tools and techniques to improve efficiency and quality.

Resource Management, Scheduling, and Problem-Solving:

– Plan and allocate resources, including managing budgets to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

– Develop and manage detailed schedules for VFX tasks, integrating them with the overall project timeline.

– Address issues quickly and develop contingency plans to keep the project on track.

Client Interaction:

– Act as the primary point of contact for CG / VFX-related discussions with clients.

– Present and explain CG / VFX concepts, progress, and final work to clients, incorporating their feedback as necessary.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

– Minimum 4 years experience in a similar role and previous experience as a 3D Artist.

– Thorough understanding of the VFX production process.

– Solid knowledge of all other disciplines within VFX and CG including modeling, rendering, animation, texturing, lighting, shading, effects, and rigging.

– Experience in working with software: Maya, Nuke, or Houdini.

– Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks at a time while remaining efficient and mindful of strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

– Ability to work efficiently with various personalities and different work styles; proactive problem-solving skills.

– Great communication skills both written and verbal.

– A collaborative work ethic.

– Fluent English is essential.

 

ADDITIONALLY SCORED

– Experience working with the SHOTGRID.

– A keen eye for art.

– Solid PM skills (tools and general methodologies in project management).
