NISSAN X-TRAIL

We’ve created a cloud sequence for the ad, one that Nissan X-Trail drives through. The original idea was to fulfil a driver’s dream, the fantasy of driving literally anywhere, being unstoppable. We wanted to show two worlds – dangerous one, in which the car overcomes every obstacle, and the real one, appearing when Nissan drives out of the clouds.

All the cloud shots outside the car are made in full CG. Shots inside Nissan were captured by camera placed in the car and mixed with digital surroundings (footage + CG). Another goal, in the spirit of brand’s slogan “Innovation that excites”, was to underline the car’s intelligent driving systems that help to drive through such a dynamic route – e.g. a rearview mirror with a built-in LCD monitor and high beam assist. Landscape in the end was enriched with mattepaint.
